Hey Fellas-- DYO Valentine!

I know it's not even February yet, but trust me: it's never too early to start thinking along the lines of V day...

For you Curbly men who celebrate your ladies with the traditional flowers and chocolate, try a new take on the gift. A friend and I worked this weekend on a few DIY projects, and came out with these treasures.

Here's What You Need:

1. An old chocolate box, preferrably in the shape of a heart.

2. Chocolate wrappers, preferrably unused, b/c well... you get it. You can find these at a local craft or grocery store (think mini-muffin wrappers).

3. Your mom's craft closet. Take it from me, this lady's got bookoos of old vintage buttons, ribbons, and fun kitschy crafts from over the years. Try asking a family friend if you can peruse his/her craft drawer, or create your own. Check any dollar store and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

4. Creativity. A little goes a long way, so call up a friend and start dishing out fun ideas for the DIY-er in your life.

Trust me, the lady in your life will be floored at your thoughtfullness, creativity, and respect for her hobby. And in turn, you'll be floored by your luck.

A darling idea! The fun part would be deciding what items to fill it up with... I'll have to do this for someone's birthday or the next Valentine's for sure.

omg- that is so funny and so awesome! I did something like that at easter one year for my adult friends. i would love love love to get a heart shaped box full of something other than chocolates. i wonder what i could put in there for mr hubby? maybe some wires and cables, switches, screws, router bits, screwdriver heads.....FANTASTIC!

This is SUCH a cute idea! And for guys it could be electrical connectors and hex nuts and such. Maybe a future post??? ;)
