The Perfect Host/Hostess Gift!

By erinloechner

Ok so if you're like me at all (or if you were raised in a small, southern Indiana town), you have this inability to attend a party, get-together, or friendly dinner without bringing a gift for the host or hostess.

Wine used to be my staple, but I fear the gift is growing a bit trite. Besides, do they like red or white? Cab or pinot? It's becoming an increasingly wine-snobbish country out there.

So, I introduce, my #1-No-Fail-Host/Hostess-Gift-for=2007:

So. This pic is a bit hard to see, so click here for more details and a clearer shot. Here are the three reasons I love this:

(1). There are two kinds of people in this world: Coffee drinkers or tea drinkers. With this mug, you can cater to either by filling it with coffee beans or tea bags, or whatever you've got around the house. If by CHANCE they don't like either (I shudder at the thought...), try hot cocoa or lemonade mix.

(2). It's dirt cheap. $3.95 for the mug and cute spoon.  LOVE it.

(3). It's fun/easy to decorate. Add some decorative ribbon and cute tissue paper for an instant, thoughtful gift.

Be sure to check out CB2 for more great gift ideas!

I have to second that. I really like the idea and the clean design of that mug.

However - it might be a little difficult to clean the handle if you don't have a dish washer.

The next problem is - where would I get those in Germany? ;-)
