How to Make Oatmeal Soap!

By erinloechner

Oatmeal soap can be a way to help your skin feel smoother and make you smell good. But, sometimes you can't find it in stores when you want it. Now you can make it!

  1. Put a skillet on the stove and turn the stove on medium heat.
  2. Take a bar of unscented soap (or another scent you want with the oatmeal scent) and melt it in the skillet.
  3. Take about a half a cup of oatmeal (put in more if you want a lot in the soap, less if you don't want so much) and pour it into the melted soap. Stir lightly.
  4. When the soap is completely melted, take it off the stove.
  5. Let it cool a little, then pour it into a mold (or something you want it in the shape of) and let it cool in there.
  6. Carefully take it out of the mold.
  • Don't put big chunks of oatmeal in because when you use it, it will scratch your skin.
  • To make liquid oatmeal soap, just pour oatmeal into your favorite liquid soap.

What a great idea! Also very good for gift giving. People would think we spent tons of time making soap...not!
