How to Make an Etched Mirror Silhouette

By erinloechner

From Leslie at A Room Somewhere, via Budget Living.

"1. Simply cut a piece of Con-tact paper to match the shape of the design you want on your mirror, remove the paper's backing, and center the Con-tact on the glass.
2. Press down firmly all around the edges to ensure a clean silhouette.
3. Then brush a thick layer of etching cream onto the mirror's exposed areas in broad, even strokes, and let it set for 5 minutes. (Be sure to work in a well-ventilated room and follow the safety instructions on the packaging.)
4. Finally, rinse off the cream with warm tap water, remove the Con-tact paper, and reflect on the smashing success of your instant makeover."
