Where to find these lamps?
By erikaI was just thumbing through the new Toast Uk home catalog and thought the lamps in this photo were pretty awesome. Does anyone know where to find such lamps?

Erika, I wondered about that myself too, so I just checked back again to make sure I wasn't seeing things that weren't there. I missed the larger print that you saw above where I read Product in Inches (L x W x H ): 50.0 x 50.0 x 95.0 Which to me made it sound as if each section of the arm were 50 inches long and it extended to 95 inches. Very big, but you never know.

I'm getting 21" from the Walmart site. 95" is almost 8' high! That would be crazy, but very cool too!
I have spent hours now searching for a lamp with that exact shade, i must be OCD....
Thank you all for the fantastic advice!

Search for 'architect's lamp' or 'drafting lamp' and you'll probably find LOTS of variations. The classic is LUXO and I think the ones we used at my first job were already 20 years old back in the 80s. They had a nice heavy base (hard to knock over) and were really durable. My only suggestion is don't go too cheap--the mechanism for the swing-arm part might not last as long. Have fun!

Erika, the second one listed at Dick Blick has a reach of 45 inches.
The Crafts Etc is 33 inches.
The Michael's lamp extends to 36 inches.
And the one at Wal Mart say it's 95 inches. I don't think you can find a work lamp larger than that. It's too bad it's not sold in stores so you could go look at it. But you wouldn't lose anything by ordering it shipped to the store since that's free. I think it's a great idea for a bedside table lamp if you read in bed. Which hubby and I both do.

Those lamps are all pretty cool but what I like most about the ones in the photo are thier scale. They seem so much larger than your average desk lamp.

They look very similar to drafting table lighting. Some have bases and some attach directly to the drafting table. I'd check art suppy stores near you like Dick Blick. Hobby Lobby aka Crafts Etc or Michaels may have them too. Wal Mart even has a similar one online with free shipping to store near you. :^P LOL
I hope either Jeromy or I found just what you are looking for Erika!
