A painting a month in 2007...
By elizabethperryI have been learning to draw by drawing every day in sketchbooks for almost two years (and posting the pictures to my blog). I have had a lot of fun with this project, but you can't really decorate a room with a bunch of little sketchbooks alone, so I would like to make a set of pictures to put on my walls in the coming year.
So here is my list:
To encourage me, Danny Gregory's book Creative License: $10.88.

A Moleskine to plan my adventures in: $14.95.
A set of acrylic paints: $24.95.

Two REALLY good brushes - size 6 and size 2: $42.39 and $12.79.

A dozen square canvases, 12" x 12" each, one for each month, (and square so that they are better to group in interesting ways on my walls): $26.96 x 2.

And a lightweight folding easel: $36.99.
(I already have a folding IKEA stool, pencils, sunscreen, and plenty of homemade sketchbooks.)
Total: $199.87
I want to make one painting a month for the year, and if I win, I'll blog them as I go along, on Curbly as well as my own blog.
Thank you.

Thanks, Michael.
I will have my hands full for a bit, getting going on my Painting a Month project (hooray!), but translucent layers and light are fascinating, and I will remember to ask you for more info when I get going on that sort of thing again.
