Painting a Month - July Update
By elizabethperry
July's painting is based on a landscape glimpsed from a bus window, early one morning.

Painting a Month - June Update
By elizabethperry
The conclusion of another project delayed my posting for a couple days, but here's June's painting.

I'm now halfway through the twelve paintings - and learning more with each one. Thanks again to the Curbly community for the prize - and hope everyone is having a restful and creative summer.
Painting a Month - May Update
By elizabethperry
Finished May's painting at the end of the month and here it is. The wall is begining to feel less sparse, and I am not even halfway through the year. Wonder what it will be like as I approach December, and whether the layout and existing paintings will influence my choices when I work. Since I paint in another room, I'm not really thinking about what is already on the wall when I'm painting - I'm too busy trying to make the picture in progre » READ MORE
Painting a Month - April Update
By elizabethperry
The April painting was completed and up on the wall last night, but I was too sleepy to photograph and post things, so here it is on May 1st.

An imaginary view from an imaginary window.
Painting a Month - March Update

Once again I'm thinking about the coastline of Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
Painting a Month - January update.
By elizabethperryThe materials from my Curbly prize arrived last week: canvases, brushes, easel, sketchbook, etc. - everything needed to create a painting for every month in 2007.

Twelve blank canvases.
I decided to hang them all on the wall in our bedroom for the time being - as a large-scale calendar and reminder of the painting-a-month project. Each canvas is 12" x 12", so after I figured out where I wanted to put the bottom left one, I measured in 15" i » READ MORE
A painting a month in 2007...
By elizabethperryI have been learning to draw by drawing every day in sketchbooks for almost two years (and posting the pictures to my blog). I have had a lot of fun with this project, but you can't really decorate a room with a bunch of little sketchbooks alone, so I would like to make a set of pictures to put on my walls in the coming year.
So here is my list:
To encourage me, Danny Gregory's book Creative License: $10.88.
