My husband and I are currently building a contemporary straw bale home using mostly recycled materials and appliances. Touchless dimmer light switch

These are beautiful.  I can see the plates being an easy DIY project . You could actually hide your light switches behind a tiled backsplash.   See demo here to see how it works. I had an older version of this in my last kitchen for my under counter lights.  It was great for when my hands got messy I could turn the light on with a wave of my hand. Be careful where you place them. If I slid something back too far on the counter my lights would go off! I think I may use one of these... »MORE

DIY Ofuro / Soaking Tub

My husband is currently building our modern, passive solar, straw bale home.  We are trying to use as many natural or recycled materials as we can.  I would love a tub like this but our budget for our tub project is $300.  Yep, $300.As our list of custom projects grow, we ditched the idea of building our own concrete soaking tub (thanks to Splatgirl's good advice).The new plan is to reuse an old hydrotherapy tub. i'm going to enter the amazing world of I.D and i want to ask you: wich program do you use for rendering on a mac. I can't find. (btw, i'm a lawyer (24years old) who just realized that i want to be an Interior designer :s (btw sorry for my english i'm from costa rica)
