Title: "My Spring Project: Backyard Tree Removal Gone Bad!"
The project: Fix up the gaping hole and ugly mulch pile left over from the giant tree we had removed two years ago (ack! two years!). When they ground out the stump from that 56-inch monster, it left an ugly eyesore in our backyard. This spring, we're determined to do something about it ('cause if we don't, I think our neighbors are going to sue us!).

That's a big tree! These are the holes we need to fix.
Estimated Cost: $1,000-$2,000 - I'm hoping to do most of the landscaping myself, but I think we'll need a pro to help us with laying new sidewalk. That could raise the price-tag significantly.
Estimated Time: 3 weekends (and lots of trips to the Home Depot)
---------------------------------------------------------------
So, what are you waiting for? Get started!

Living room makeover
By DIYdreamer
I'm going to give my living room a makeover. I think it's going to cost just under 300$. The only things I'm buying is paint, brushes and filler (is that the word?) Oh, and I bought two lamp bases and shades at a used furniture store. They were about 8$. I bought pistacchio green and dark pink paint and I think it's going to be lovely. 3 walls will be green and one pink. On the pink wall I'm going to hang a yellow buddhist monk robe on a curtain rod. I have a red sixties set of sofas and... »MORE

It has been a little hard to work on this immediately due to $$$$ but im hoping this project can get done anytime soon. The time it will... »MORE
My Spring Project: bed + platform
By balubalu
Introduction:I am living in a small one room apartment (plus very small kitchen, corridor and bathroom) so I need to optimally use the existing space. Since I'm working from home a lot of the time one of the most important things is my working space: a desk, computer and storage for supplies and filing. The other really important thing is my bed with a size of 140 x 200 cm (about 55 x 78 inch) - working all day makes me tired. So the question is - what can I do to combine these two and use the existing space... »MORE
