Hiding unsightly telephone wires-help!

When I was painting my kitchen for some reason I just painted around telephone wires sticking out of the wall. I don't know why I didn't look into removing them before I painted but I'm pretty sure it had to do with being too ancy to get started. I have invested so much money in spice that I'm pretty sure the story of Dune was inspired by my kitchen. Unfortunately, organizing the many types of spice in my cupboard has been difficult. Several times I have rushed out to buy cumin, only to come home and find that i had three jars of it in the back of the cupboard from previous emergency trips to the grocery store.
