How to use this site

By cheryll

Where do I find instructions on how to post a comment?  Or use this site, in general.  Like, what is the purpose of Curbly membership?

Honest question, folks.  I'm not young enough to just know what this is all about!

 Thanks,

cheryll

Does Clippings only work for Mac's? or something? It seems like it does not work for a lot of people? I tried to drag it, but it does not want to be dragged. Clicking on it always shows the Clippings page graphics. Anyone want to upload a video on how to do it?

Welcome to the site, Cheryll. Most people use Curbly to find interesting DIY/decorating ideas, and post questions on home-improvement topics. Another great thing is sharing what you've done to fix up your own place by posting photos and blog posts describing your projects. Hope you enjoy your visit!

And to add to stephee's comments, Curbly also allows you to add clippings (images) to your blog from all over the web. It's kind of like keeping an on-line scrap book. To enable it, just go to your clippings page and then drag the bookmarklet to your bookmarks toolbar. (There are instructions.) Think of signing up for membership as RSVPing to a party; showing up to the party--via posting and commenting--is entirely up to you!!

Hi Cheryll.

I can tell you how I use the site: I check the front page regularly to see new ideas posted by members. If there are not any new ideas since my last visit, I click on "get inspired" or "what's popular". If I want to look for something specific, I can type it in the search box. That's on the "viewing" side of the house. If you want to contribute, do exactly what you did - post something. Post a completed project, something you've done yourself (with pictures, instructions and tips), or something you've seen on the internet that is a neat craft or do-it-yourself (DIY) project, or something in general you think the folks around here might like - something with great style and functionality, usually.

Look around, though, and watch what everyone else is doing and you'll catch on. Have fun!
