Over the hill -- but generally pleased with the view
I edit a health newsletter, blog, knit, answer email, play with my digital camera and make cards from the pictures (see profile photo). First time in my life that I can feel like an artist, LOL.
I love these blogs, having been sort of the family blacksheep of housekeeping in my first life. Remarried after widowhood and am now in my second life, I'm considered Mrs. Clean by the new family. It is just too funny, but I do seem to know more about keeping a house than all these 'professionals' with whom I live presently.
I used to have a nearly off the grid house and large garden, lots of kids and several businesses run out of my home. I'm retired now =:) and my garden consists of 4 window boxes and assorted pots that spend the summer out on the balcony of my third floor apartment.

How to use this site
By cheryllWhere do I find instructions on how to post a comment? Or use this site, in general. Like, what is the purpose of Curbly membership?
Honest question, folks. I'm not young enough to just know what this is all about!
Thanks,
cheryll

Thanks, Cheryll. Love the phrase 'over the hill but pleased with the view' - I'll have to remember that.
SWMBO teaches card-making at a local rural institute - she makes no claims to be an expert, just a case of 'in the land of the blind...' In a rural show last week, one of her cards came second to an entry from a lady she had just taught cardmaking a week before! I don't think she could have been more pleased if she'd won herself! But she did get a couple of prizes for knitting and x-stitch.
If you're really into your craftmaking, think about a page on Webshots - it's free and a good forum for pictures. SWMBO has one at http://community.webshots.com/user/joyloob/ - it's a great way to get your work seen, and easier than constantly emailing pictures to friends.
As for my picture - the wife wants a big blowup to hang above the fireplace. She reckons it should keep the bairns away from the fire...
