I'm a graphic designer by trade (designforretail.com), but taking off the first part of the year to get my little "invention" up and running. The side company's called Change of Art, inc. and the product is a changeable gallery frame!

I'd always wanted a way to have CHANGEABLE ART, and a few (several) years ago, I came up with a crazy-easy way to do it! For me, it's all about the mat. But I just dreaded all that fuss: taking the back off, using the right tape, cleaning the glass... Because there's always that one teeny piece of lint that doesn't show up until everything's reassembled. So now, you don't have to do any of that--you can mat and frame a standard size print in just seconds.

It's in stores now (select mass retailers), and I'm getting great feedback on the website--from homeowners and photographers. But I'm most looking forward to the ARTIST connection--since that's who it was created for. Going for simpler styling, just a few sizes, and creamy white WIDE mats. The Etsy artists I've contacted are excited about the possibilities: Easy, affordable matting/framing for them, and CHANGEABILITY for their customers. Soon, everyone can have fresh, fun art - perfectly matted & framed - whenever they want!
