I created this bed next to my detached garage. When we moved in, it was just a patch of grass. I made a little tile walkway (which doesn't show in this picture) and then got rid of the grass and piled on compost and top soil until I had a raised bed. I mostly grow perennials in it, but a little basil and marigolds too.
