My husband and I have built a couple of houses.  By "built" I mean we've had them framed up by pros, but we pretty much took it from there...insulating, sheetrock, trim work, staining, varnishing, installing tile in about 7 bathrooms, painting, etc. etc...

My special love is sewing.  I've made most of the window treatments in our homes as well as bedskirts, duvets, pillows, etc. 

The UGLIEST room I've ever lived in was my bedroom when I was 13.  I desperately wanted LIME GREEN paint, but alas, it was too expensive for my father's taste, so I got the cheaper PURPLE paint.  To this day, I cannot tolerate purple in any of its hues and shades.

Our latest purchase for our home were the 8 million patio pavers required to finish the lovely gathering spot out back by the hot tub.  It was worth all the backbreaking work.  Finished JUST in time for our daughter's graduation party!
