happy dining nook

nothing makes our home happier than having friends over - except for having people over and making food for them!

we are really lucky to have a space for a full dining table (Ikea table, Ikea + CB2 chairs) even if we do not have a defined "dining room". I love to have little dinner parties, for four people or ten.

on this occasion, just before my birthday, we had so many people we did not have enough forks! nontheless, I insisted on everybody sitting down and eating a proper meal - even if I had to hop up and do dishes before serving dessert (black forest cake - to celebrate Octoberfest)

our dining area makes me happy because it is all about cooking, eating, enjoying the warmth of a house full of happy people... and what could be more delightful than a dining room full of friends?

thanks! the white, straight chairs are from CB2. I think they were called Lily, but are no longer sold in white. the aqua chairs are a rather recent addition - we got them for this party because we knew we did not have seats for everybody. they come from Ikea, and are called Urban (and there is one more that you can just barely see on the right of the photo to make four of each)
