Carpet - Dogs - Eeek!
By bippityboppityI'm looking for a way to avoid having to steam clean my BEIGE carpet so often. I have two medium-sized dogs, one of which is a new addition to our family and has had a few slight accidents. On rainy days they also tend to zoom in from the door, leaving muddy, watery marks on the carpet.
I HATE carpet, but my other half won't allow me to remove it and expose what beautiful wood floors we actually have. I have even tried comprimising with area rugs, but it's a no go.
So I am wondering if anyone has any ideas with respect to designing a "play area" for our doggies, of which I will devise a way to streamline them straight to such play area when coming in from muddy times outdoors. I have seen some stuff here or there on television, but it's all done by pro's in a day's time. I'm looking for examples of things "real" diy'ers have done.
Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advance!!!

Ok. For your consideration:
I'm afraid that's all I got.
Good luck!

Flor tiles. If you have to have the carpet, but want to add some color, even some design, try them! A bit pricy, but on par with normal carpet. Also, they wash easily, and can be quickly rearranged. Spot be gone!
We use a wine colored carpet to simply hide things like that. Doesn't help with traffic marks, but ah well, can't have it all on the cheap, eh?
