Description:

i felt compelled to create my own jewelry storage solution. luckily, my bathroom had an extra medicine cabinet that was the perfect fit. i screwed in lots of hooks for the necklaces. then, for the bangles, i drilled holes large enough to accomodate wooden coat pegs. and for the earrings, i found pine flats about 1/8" thick and 3/4" wide sawed tiny 1/4" notches into the tops (for the ones w/ backs), and drilled a row of tiny holes below that (for the ones w/ wire hooks) before screwing them to the door through 3/4" spacers. at the time, i was really insistent that the earing rods look velvety, like the interiors of commercial jewelry boxes, so i searched high and low for flocking. amazingly, the michael's and hobby-lobbies of my town didn't stock any -- finally found it at a model-train specialty shop.
