backdating blog entries?

is there a way to backdate blog entries?  i want to transfer the blog entries i've been keeping at another site to this one, but don't see a way to backdate.  help!  thanks!  :)

@benmoore:  You could store have 2 date fields in your database.  One for the date the entry was added to curbly and one for the "display date" the user inputs.  Then for the front page's most recent entries pull the date info from date added field while the page for the actual entry pulls the date from the "display date" field.  You might also want to put something in so that really old entries don't flood the most recent section of the front page (e.g. if display date more than 6 months older than the date added, do not show).

Yeah, there is the "most recent" problem.  How do we keep people from continually changing the date so their post is the most recent?  If we can avoid fancy rules, that'd be great.

Hi Bellaschlager. During my initial Curblying I've not seen that feature here, but I have seen it on other blogging sites. I'm guessing it will appear here sometime. The only problem I can foresee is that the system relies on the date to determine what content is new. So, people changing dates would alter the order in which things appear. Unless the system can distinguish between displayed date/time and the actual date/time of file creation. Such complex and esoteric programming mysteries can only be resolved by the most elite specialists of the computer programming arts, such as Ben Moore. ~ Gregory
