this is the mess we inherited from the sellers. they took liberal advantage of our offer to help them out (he's got a heart condition) by saying they could leave whatever they couldn't move before the closing date. *sigh*

Wow. That's crazy. Helping out is one thing; but this might be too much.

indeed.  we (mostly chris) had to clean this all out of the basement and put it into the screened-in porch (all the stuff the sellers left behind completely filled the 8'x18'x9'H porch), from whence the day-laborers put it all into the dumpster.  insane.
