I bet the women in most of you will really like this: steel shelves that cast a crochet shadow on the wall. Make sure you don't miss the other ones. The site has some really creative stuff. »MORE

CD + Radio

By balubalu 2nd_item_picts_001_large

Too bad that this is just a concept. Usually I'm a fan of designs with clean lines and without too much mumbo jumbo. And this box is just that plain simple. You can not see any buttons, it looks really stylish and you can listen to radio and play CDs - what else would I need....   »MORE

My nick...

By balubalu Balu_large

Ok everyone - I've noticed that there are some difficulties with my login. So to just make sure what my nick is, where it comes from and how that affected my login here at curbly, read below.  Many of you probably know the guy above as Captain Balu or without hat and jacket as Balu from Disneys Jungle Book. Perhaps it's written different in your language - Baloo in English, Balou in French I guess, but the German version is Balu.Being a big fan of the Jungle Book, I think Balu's Motto is really great: "Look for the bare necessities..."Some long... »MORE

My Spring Project: bed + platform

By balubalu Bed_large

Introduction:I am living in a small one room apartment (plus very small kitchen, corridor and bathroom) so I need to optimally use the existing space. Since I'm working from home a lot of the time one of the most important things is my working space: a desk, computer and storage for supplies and filing. The other really important thing is my bed with a size of 140 x 200 cm (about 55 x 78 inch) - working all day makes me tired. So the question is - what can I do to combine these two and use the existing space... »MORE

Sweet chandelier

By balubalu Chandelier_large

We had some chandeliers here already, but I think I've just stumbled over the sweetest one - literally. This chandelier is made of gummy bears, beads, monifilament, plastic, metal and of course light bulbs. [via]  »MORE

Window transforming balcony

I like the idea behind this window that transforms to a balcony, but on the other hand - if you have space for a balcony - why not always have one?  »MORE

Knots

By balubalu Monkeysfistr16_large

Yes, at the first look at animated knots you might think "this is not really curbly". But then again - have a close look e.g. at the decorative ones or some of the houshold knots (ties and shoes also have a knot ;).  »MORE

Shiny colors?

By balubalu Curbly_medium

What kind of color would you choose if you want to give some MDF a really glossy finish? I mean so shiny that you can see the fingerprints of all unwanted guests in your house without having to use some fingerprinting powder.Okay, perhaps not that shiny (I don't want to wear gloves all the time myself ;-), but close... Any hints on what lacquer or latex to use and how to treat it so that it really blinks? »MORE

"Retro" hanger

By balubalu 33798_ixr2tb16xzeuiwgqrijagv7l6_large

Ahh, the good old times, only 8 bits but rocking... As I wrote before I am a geek and as such I have some really nice stuff from those times. I really should go and get the old boxes from the basement that have "Commodore C128 D" (the big brother of the famous C64) written on them, fetch the Competition Pro joysticks and do this myself:  PS: No - of course I won't. They are still working fine and how am I supposed to play Elite without them? »MORE

Mulitcolor dishrack

By balubalu 276_large

I used to pile my dishes close to the sink after I've cleaned them - allowing them to dry. Some day I got a dishrack that kept things from falling (it's hard to let plates stay upright ;). However that dishrack just took too much space and was in the way all the time. Now I've seen something that might help - the Pylones Dishrack that allows you to set up your dishrack the way you like. Managing curbly

By balubalu Curbly_medium

Hi everyone, I'm somehow having problems keeping up to date with the curbly posts, comments and other stuff. How do you manage that you don't miss a thing in this community?I'd like to have some sort of subscription method (perhaps not by mail, but being able to see in my profile pages somewhere) to be informed of new comments on tasks that I've commented on. Or being able to subscribe to a post I'm interested in to see if someone has to say something interesting even if I did not comment it yet. What ideas do you have for curbly?     BaluPS:... »MORE
