A Dyson is *never* a bad gift!

By badbadivy

Good Valentine's present, for me, anyway.

Amazon has come out with their list of bad Valentine's Day gifts.  Now, I don't know about you guys, but I would jump for joy if my husband bought me a Dyson for Valentine's Day. As a matter of fact, I'm getting my husband a belt sander for Valentine's Day. What can I say, I'm a true romantic.

Most of the list is pretty bad, but to me the worst gift is a $495 book called The 2007-2012 Outlook for Bathroom Toilet Brushes and Holders in Greater China.  Seriously, why in the heck would anyone want to pay $495 for a paperback book about toilet brushes and holders?

I know you crazy do-it-yourselfers would like some non-traditional Valentine's Day gifts, so let's hear about what you would like to get!

Wait, did I read correctly? You're saying you MADE a roomba out of two broken ones?

If that's true, you have GOT to post some pictures. I'd love to see that.

I had a Roomba that I really liked, but after about a year it broke. I'm not mad I bought it, but in the end it's not any more convenient than a good vacuum cleaner. I'd take a Dyson over a Roomba any day.

Just my two cents.

I have a roomba *woot*. In fact I got two broken once on ebay and made one of them - it's all about DIY ;).

I have to admit that I like the idea of Dysons too, but they are told to be very loud - just like jet engine turbines.

What I'm never going to buy again is one of those "permanent filter" vacs (though the roomba has the same -uh- but that is a different story ;). I always stood in dust when emptying those and the filter also needed to be cleaned quite often.

Um yes! I'd take a Dyson.  But what I really want is a Roomba!
