Yet more hanging bed inspiration

By badbadivy

Seriously, I don't know what it is with me and hanging beds, but I want one in the worst way. Well, clearly not bad enough to actually go out and buy one, but you know how it is.  This one looks very DIYable, however, and DIYable inexpensively. It's Le Beanock by Tracie Herrtage, a former model-turned-sailmaker-turned-welder-turned extremely awesome furniture designer.

This is more couch than bed, but I think it could just as easily be made into a bed. What do you guys think? Should this be the one I finally end up doing myself?

I built a hanging bed once. They aren't all they are cracked up to be. The one above looks good due to the chains being at angles. That would minimize side to side movement. The one I made hung straight down and never stopped moving.

I'd love to make a couch like that for my living room, except I have vaulted ceilings and can't hang anything that bears weight on it. That's why I haven't hung my sky chair yet. Next house, all my furniture's gonna be hanging from my non-vaulted ceilings. ;)
