Make your own Moleskine-like notebook

By badbadivy

I had a Moleskine notebook. It was beyond fabulous, I absolutely loved it. Then I managed to lose it. I about cried, because Moleskine notebooks are expensive. Fortunately, I can now make my own Moleskine-like notebook, thanks to Michael Shannon. The equipment needed isn't too odd, and even though there are a lot of steps, it seems to be simple enough to be able to do on my own. Here's the materials list:

Materials Needed:

  • 24 sheets of paper 8.5 x 11 inches
  • One 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of a "special" paper.
  • A piece of Naugahyde that measures 9 x 5 5/8 inches.
  • Cheesecloth or an open weave fabric approximately 1.5 x 5 inches
  • Upholstery thread.
  • A small sheet of Wax paper or glassine paper.

Tools Needed:

  • A bookbinders needle.
  • Beeswax.
  • A bookbinders awl.
  • Adhesive.
  • Xacto knife
  • Ruler
  • T-square and triangle
  • Heavy books.
  • Bone folder
  • Binder clips

Nope, not too bad at all. Head on over and get the instructions to make your own.
