i'm a poacher, lulz
By atrophieokay so don't tell my landlord, but i poached some moss from the trunk of an oak tree on the property. i was inspired--no, driven--to start trying to grow my own moss from this Pottery Barn catalog photo:
then i remembered this estate that my dad's business partner owned. it had hills in the backyard that were completely covered in moss. i remember how beautiful i thought it was, like nature's carpet. so i've started my own moss garden:
i've researched a little about different types of moss and how to grow it, and i hope i'll be successful and someday have this:

MY MOSS WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!! oh, and i started an inspiration book that i can use to keep clippings of inspirational photos.

I agree with you, DIY Maven!! 100%!!! We have a lot of moss in our grass, which makes the fact that the lawnmower's been broken for three weeks easier to bear- I posted pictures of my own moss garden here before. Maybe a person could find it if they were to click on my little icon, I don't know.
BTW about growing moss. You have to have the right conditions. Not too much sun, only a few hours a day really. They want lots of shade, and they want moist, damp conditions. Just something to keep in mind.

I've always wanted a yard that was covered in moss. Soft, velvety green...and no mowing!
