so i'm new here...trying my hardest to become a cosmopolitan crafting and decorating diva. i love learning how to do new things. a few of the projects i'm working on at the moment are

BUBBLE MIRROR

generic brown plastic framed full-length mirror that i drew swirls on with a white-board marker. i glued the round mirrors on with mosaic glue. i'm in the process of giving the frame a few coats of pewter metal leaf paint (i have to paint outside because of the fumes, but it's been snowing recently)

PERFUME TRAY

this was one of those plain wood trays i got at a craft store. i painted it with some coats of green, varnished it, and then mixed some pearlescent pigment with epoxy resin and made a nice, glassy bottom for the tray. this is going to confine all my perfumes and such on my bathroom counter so they don't end up all over the place.

BATHROOM CABINETS

i don't know what to do about these yet. maybe make a little skirt for the fixture to cover the gaping holes...

MORE BATHROOM DECORATING

i got the basket from the dollar store. i might dry-brush some metal leaf or chocolate acrylic paint on to spice it up. the glass jar used to have a candle in it. when i used up the candle, i scraped and washed the wax out, filled the bottom with marbles. now it stores cotton swabs. i'm debating whether or not to hot-glue a spherical glass knob on the top for easy opening (and no fingerprints on the metal lid).

ARTWORK (?)

so far it's just faux suede (polyester) heavy-duty-stapled to some hard board. i'm going to stencil some design onto it...possibly an octopus. hang it on the wall like a picture...maybe with a ribbon like they hang those beveled mirrors.

umm, yeah. so far so good in my first real place!
