I got this chair for free on the side of the road. The most labor intensive part of the makeover was scraping and sanding off the old finish, which had become beaded on the surface. Then i painted it and gave it 3 coats of clear lacquer.

I bought this chair at a thrift store for $2.50. I removed the old caning on the seat, which had torn. I cut along the groove where the caning had been attached with a jigsaw. I spraypainted the wooden pieces bright red. I upholstered the inside part of the seat and screwed it back together.

I got this old 1960s teachers desk from a surplus store. It was a dark turquoise color and had some scratches on the side and rust in the corners of the drawers, but work surface was in perfect shape and it was solid as a rock. I took it apart and spray painted it brown, then aded a couple of colored circles to make it match the wall art.

Limited edition of 50. This is an archival print of a pen and ink drawing which has been digitally coloured.

Printed on 260gsm acid free, 100% cotton rag art paper using archival pigment ink. Signed, numbered and dated.

This is a picture of Martin the rooster's beloved chair collection.

He's the kind of guy who can't drive past a chair on the side of the road without taking it home and fixing it up; well, sometimes fixing it up, a lot of the time they just get added to the ever growing brokeny tree forest in the garage.

Miriam the hen finds this all very vexing.

"After touring some offices of real fashion magazines, Jess Gonchor (production designer) gave the Runway offices a clean, white look meant to suggest a makeup compact ("the chaste beiges and whites of impervious authority", Denby called it). Miranda's office bears some strong similarities to the real office of Anna Wintour, down to an octagonal mirror on the wall, photographs and a floral arrangement on the desk (a similarity so marked Wintour had her office redecorated after the movie). The magazine itself is very similar to Vogue, and one of the covers on the wall of the office, showing three models, is a direct homage to the August 2004 cover of that magazine."
