So, I painted the walls this rich purple, which I love, but, now what? I'm dizzy trying to figure out what else this room needs and which of the pieces I have I should keep or chuck. We love the fireplace, the chandelier, our corner cupboard and the new piano. I have considered doing a rug under the dining room table, re-doing the mantle display, culling the china display down, getting some different art for the walls and tweaking the color scheme to make sure the purple comes off as lavish and not overwhelming and loud. I need serious help. Any ideas?

Tree of life and Sun needlepoint design attached to yellow silk pillow, old.

12" x 12" Giclee print. My patio I had built back when I was young and single and living in Simi Valley, CA. I love arches and anything Spanish Style.

This antique train was in a university museum in Karlsruhe, Germany. During WWII the building was bombed by the allies, exposing the treasure.

A unique color combination.

...for a reason, perhaps? :-)

I like it. But the wall is too brightly colored. I'll repaint it into a darker turquoise this x-mas holiday.

To do:
Find a matching carpet.
Buy or make a couple of paintings and frames.
Get a leafy floor plant.

This pillow is part of a pair... I can't believe I was patient enough to make two of these! It's the first design that I ever stitched and I still love it. The design concept came from a clipart image that I adapted it to fit my needs.

I had high hopes for this design, but ran into a lot of complications with the petals overlapping. It still turned out OK, considering that I put it on the back burner for several months or maybe even a year before I got back to it.

I think this is a basic quilting pattern, but I tried to give some edge by using black, white & red.
