I live in Los Angeles and I own a business named "alter" which is exactly what I do, alter apartments on a budget.  I use the items people already own in different ways to create a relaxing and comfortable environment.  I introduce color in to peoples lives, eliminate clutter, hang curtains or eclectic fabrics from downtown on the windows, practice feng shui and rearrange furniture to make a nice flow in every room.  I really love the process because it is always challenging to maintain the individuals personal style, but most of all I enjoy the healing process that occurs once the project is finished.  My clients start off having no confidence in their home and feeling embarrassed when bring company over.  After, they have pride in their space and can't wait to invite guests in to share their comfort.

I would consider my style off beat and rock n' roll.  I encourage small; yet bold statements to reflect an artsy taste, the use of common household pieces in unconventional ways, and looking outside the box to make an impression.  I want to open people's eyes to new ideas that make big differences for little or no money.
