Thanks for the compliment on my couch. I didn't have any experience with reupholstery before doing it. I just jumped right in, though it took quite a while. I'm thinking about writing about the process soon.
I say go for it with the chair. Especially if you can find some nice, cheap fabric. Then you don't really have much to lose and a lot of experience to gain.
