I'm a self-taught geek who finds anything better than cleaning/organizing my house. My kids are 22 and almost 19, and the clutter of toys is long gone. So why does my house always look like a tornado hit? I think I'm getting to the point that, if no one else cares how it looks (or will help me) why should I care? I used to love to entertain and now I dread it if someone shows up unannounced. I'm trying to shake that mnd-set, and so, I'm seeking help and motivation from all of you! (no pressure! VBG!)

We live in a Colonial-style house, built in 1966. We have lived here for 18 years, and I lived here as a child from the age of 4 until I was 14 and we moved. My husband & I bought it from the people that bought it from my parents. Over the years we have remodeled the kitchen and the kids' bathroom, and updated the livingroom/family room and dining room (which is now my husband's office/junk room.) My style would be described as contemporary/eclectic/whimsical.

If I ever get it all cleaned up enough to take some pictures, I'll post them!
