Leave Behind Some Art

By ZolaClaire

If you stick to the trail, the side walks or roads, you will never experience the full effect of what nature has to offer and you will never find my hidden art.  My son, dog and I often walk in the open field behind our sub (a future phase in our development) where we have many great adventures.  This is where my son can be a pirate, climbing hills and searching for gold, and it's a place where our dog can sniff out the traces of far gone deer, rabbits and field mice.  It's also a quiet place for me where I happily gather endlesss amounts of field stones to make hidden treasures.  Actually, I stopped gathering stones after making two designs, but I often go back and check on them.  When you let spontaniety take over, you can be really creative while getting a little exercise!

We called this Happy Hill. The neighborhood kids got a bit creative with it and turned it into a bug, then it got destroyed by some construction equipment... it was a sad day

Swirls and vines helped to inspire this design. This piece cannot be seen from the road, you have to venture out in order to see it, which is why it's even more endearing to me.

That's awesome! Whenever we go up to the North Shore of Lake Superior, I end up leaving behind lots of little rock statues on the beaches. The orginal word for these is Inushuk:
