Doggies chewed a hole in my quilt.

By You Make Me Smile Gehtotel_in_waikiki2_medium

Just looking for some ideas: My doggie chewed a big hole in a quilted blanket of mine. (Not a patchwork quilt; the kind with one layer of fabric, a layer of batting, and some lining) the hole is too big to repair, but since the quilt is rather large (queen size) I don't want to just throw it away. So if anyone has any ideas what I can do with it, I'd appreciate it! thanks! »MORE

Matchbox keepsake holders

By You Make Me Smile Hclvr241_4final2_e

When I found this, I couldn't wait to make one for myself. It is a fun, not over time consuming project. Then I thought it would be cute to make some for my three newphews and niece. I used papers that suited each of their personalities and they LOVED them (especially my little niece who stores her tiny hair clips and earings in it). http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_paper_crafts_boxes/article/0,1789,HGTV_3289_4939530,00.html »MORE

Unfortunately, the guest room looks like a scene from little house on the prairie. Luckily, the dresser actually has very straight lines, but just has a HORRIBLE green color. I'm looking to redo the room in a light/birch-type style furniture, but don't have the money just now. Can anyone suggest a temporary fix in the way of a faux finish for this... »MORE

Need big art...not a big pricetag

By You Make Me Smile Gehtotel_in_waikiki2_medium

We've been working really hard on our new house and found that the once seemingly enormous budget we'd set aside for redoing everthing came to be a very tiny dollar amount sooner than expected. My dream has always been to have big artwork that's modern, simple, and unique. There are plenty of things I've found that I loved, but waaaaay out of my price range. As I mentioned in my profile, I've convinced myself that I can create just about anything I put my mind to, but right now, I need some inspiration. I'd love to hear any inexpensive ideas... »MORE
