Scrap Nettle - Beauty Secrets from Your Backyard

Poor stinging nettles: they need a new P.R. person.

Yes, their stingers can cause welts and allergic reactions if you touch them with your bare hands, but once you subdue a nettle plant's young, tender leaves, you behold myriad possibilities for nourishment: teas, soups, pesto, sautés, you name it.

Nettles are also big beauty boosters, because they aid your kidneys and liver: you can add some to your next facial steam, infuse them into vinegar, or steep them in either vinegar or water to make a hair rinse that helps banish dandruff. They are chlorophyll powerhouses.

Oh, and one last thing: stinging nettles are also quite the saucy little aphrodisiacs. Hurts so good, I suppose... ;)
