We installed these in our master bedroom ensuite.  You don't see as much of the rock once it has been grouted, although they still look great and feel wonderful on bare feet!

Good to know. We actually won't be using them on the floor, just on the wall behind our washer and dryer as a sort of backsplash accent and as a backsplash for the sink area as well. I would like to make sure to use a minimal amount of grout to ensure that it sits well below the level of the stones. I think it'll look great.

I forgot to mention that we put them on the floor of our shower and left the grouting up to the installer ... they will look great as a backsplash.
