Italian style

By Sijbrich

My husband and I are in Italy for three months and I just thought I would share a few photos of our lovely apartment.

I never really considered putting red and orange together, but I think it works quite well. I really like the dark wood and leather that accents the bright colors and brings balance.  This landscape shot is the view from our living room window.  The mountains that surround the town that we live in are dusted with snow.

Here's our modern kitchen.  It's small, but I like the clean lines.  Also, a shot of the bathroom.  That towel rack on the left is just about the coolest thing I have ever seen.  It is connected to the heating system in the apartment so it heats up the bottom rungs, helping to dry the towels or warming them for your upcoming shower.

About: I once heard an interior designer say something to the effect that you should decorate...

Yeah, I agree, the table is sort of shoved in the corner - it's a tight squeeze if you want to sit on the side by the wall.  But it kind of has to be that way to allow for a modest walkway to the kitchen and then to the back rooms.  Maybe we could move it out a few inches...Thanks for mentioning that.

Wow what a nice appartment. And the view outside!!! I like the style, simple. That always works.

@Keter: That's not only a towel rack in the bathroom - that's a heater where you can hang your towels too. The idea is to have warm towels at hand when you get out of the shower :-)

i like the sofa and table in the back, but table seems shoved in a corner.  yes, tiles are nice in the kitchen.

Lovely!  The towel rack has given me an idea I'm implementing as soon as I stop typing.  I have a wooden slat shelf left over from a closet remodeling (they sell these at Lowes, if I remember correctly) that would be perfect for this.

I like the tiled wall in the kitchen.
