Seven Years of DIY
By SenselessBuilding a house is just like adding an addition, it just takes longer...
I designed this house and did most of the construction myself and paid for the bulk of it by buying and remodeling then selling a few other smaller houses.
It took me about 5 months to frame it and get the roof on and then I rolled a truck and crushed my head which slowed me down a bit but I just finished it to the point I could get moved in.
I probobly have a month of doing mouldings and stuff then I plan on taking a longnap.

The floors are 3/4 oak I got from lumber liqudators dot com and I used 25 boxes of nails to put down about 2800 square feet of it. I have a lot fo trouble remember when and how long thing took and happened since I wacked my head but I think the floors took me about 10 weeks or so.
I just found this site lots of good posts on it.
