Sorry, I've been experimenting the too much information sindrome, and changed into Ububtu, leaving the Windoze brain-dead OS!
Not relating withanythig, I know, but let me tell you, Ubuntu ROCKS!
Other Linuxes were a pain, this is a breeze... And a good option for creators not wanting to cough up the Mac mega-prices.

I LOVE my DC15 Ball Dyson! We bought the full kit off HSN in Sept. 06. (Sidebar: they offer a GREAT interest free flex-pay plan if you want to break the payments up into more affordable installments.)

My daughter has three dogs, 2 smooth coat collies, 1 height challenged lab, and one Dyson Animal. If she didn't have the Dyson I swear I would never be able to find my grand daughter. The thing is FABULOUS!!!I will even take it out to the deck after we card the dogs just to get the residue from between the boards. Then take it to ourselves before we go back into the house.

$450 sounds about right for the cheepest. I must say its worth it...instead of buying a $299 vacuum every three years buy one dyson.

So is $450 the cheapest anyone has seen it online? I'd love to get it, but that's the lowest price I've found so far...

Not sure what's going on with the Dyson haters, but I have to put in my 2-cents: I love my Dyson! Every other vacuum I've had only lasted 2 years max. My cute taxi-cab yellow model is still going strong after 5 years. Now, I don't have any animals, but I do have a kid and I think often that kids rival animals in terms of household messiness. Anyway, as with everything else in life, nothing's going to be perfect for everyone. But you can add me to the list of those for whom a Dyson vacuum was the most worthwhile buy ever.

Hmmm, we have the animal version too and I love it! Especially as I deal with both dander from a bird and lots of hair from a cattle dog. Nothing has got up the dogs hair quiet like the Dyson.
Of course, I also have to add that I went from a horribly crappy vaccum to the Dyson so haven't really had much to compare it too. I figured if I was going to 'invest" in a vaccum cleaner that was going to be the one.

The Dyson sucks -- and not in a good way.

Well the review link does say this...I'd have to agree
"..but the Animal gets the preponderance of raves, mainly from formerly frustrated pet owners claiming that the Animal's pet-hair tool works wonders."

Plastic, anyone?
