Oh, I have to add my personal can't-pass-up--I have a collection I call my "Bolts of Neutral-ish Upholstery Fabric and Various Good Sized Tableclothes and Such that I've Gotten at Thrift." My husband hates that collection. Almost as much as he hates my Finial and Drawer Pull collection and my "Xmas Glam Every Day" collection. I swear if he ever finds out that I am a veritable lending library of curtains for our friends, he will be livid.
Goodwills are a bit pricey down here, but we have lots of church sponsored shops.
Ah well

I love thrifting, but my hubby dreads my finds. Especially since I buy just because it's cool and I can do this or this or that with it and sell it! So far I've I've done is collect and repurpose things for us. I wouldn't even let myself go this week to look at books cause there's always something tempting.
I absolutely love your aqua chairs. I agree, if you can get two in chairs and lamps go for it, cause it can take a very long time in the search for a match for either if you ever get lucky enough.

Dude, you have made a haul over the years! I'm afraid the closest thrift store to me closed a while back, but I hear tell of an excellent one near my in-laws. You've inspired me to make a special trip!

Yeaa! Thanks goodness Goodwill is thriving and expanding like Starbucks, at least around here.

Great thrifting tips! I'm a bit of a thriftstore junkie, but I've found the most beautiful furniture (most of the stuff in my apartment) at charity shops/Goodwill; which I almost always alter or recon to fit in. And yes... I am often sidetracked and purchase ridiculous things. But these are great rules to live by! Thanks!
