Yeah, that's pretty much like the lamp I painted. I just sanded it, like I said and painted away. If it has crevices you can't get to, I might use some sort of acetone-based product (like WilBond) to de-gloss those bits. You know, now that I think about it, I've spray painted a bunch of brass light fixtures too. Like electrical light fixtures. A ceiling fan too--the hub and arms and stuff. They turned out great! I used that textured spray stuff, but always sanded first.

Maven-Just saw a table/floor lamp at G-Will. It had an ug shiny brass post and base. What do you think about changing that?
