Really creative process, Rob. I like your design, but I'm most excited that:
1. You can bend acrylic with a heat gun
2. You can add wood veneer to acrylic
3. It actually looks awesome!

Thanks! If you click through to my blog I have a bunch more pictures. I'm making version 2 as I right this with a high power warm led light source so I'll keep everone posted.

Very cool! I love that the source of the light isn't apparent and it looks like it's coming right out of the wood.
