I use canvas dropclothes to hide any number of awful things.  They're fantastically cheap, considering the size and weight of the fabric, and I believe I've gotten a really huge one--maybe 12' by 18' for around $30.  It's been awhile.  They come in two weights and I usually try to go with the heavier one.  Once you have one big enough, then you can mess around with it on the couch until you find a happy arrangement.  Sheets are another option--sewn together or fused, but the fabric might not be heavy enough to blot out that particular shade of harvest orange.

Lack of money? Then you'll just have to get down and dirty and reupholster it yourself! Get a book from the library, borrow your dad's staple gun and beg, borow and steal as much fabric as you can. (or luck upon a fantastic yard sale that happens to be selling a huge bolt of fabric) check out this link for some cool ideas-
