Ooo! I've seen other "DIY" furniture, like bookshelves and desks... That is, they were made to look like a "DIY" project.

A desk w/hutch: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=30169&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=336&iSubCat=713&iProductID=30169

Neat bed!  We are expecting our first grandbaby so I checked the site to see if there were any other DIY doable items for babys.  I found a cradle, changing table and crib that I know hubby and I can make!  In fact I'm visualizing other items they need that could be made in the same way too.  So if you have any babies in your life, check out the items made by Celery on that site. If you have older children there's plenty other DIY doables too.

I have seen the cradle before on another site, but love the rest they offer too.  Thanks so much for the link Mave!

Agreed....for the girth of a full-sized rear, a bit of center support would be a very good idea!

i would say though, that if i were making this for as you put it, humans over the age of 18, i would probably put another leg under the center of the bench, just to feel safe.

great design!

This is cool. It really lends itself to design changes if you were feeling creative. I just might have to make one of these for the boy when the time comes.
