You can also sprinkle a little baking soda in your shampoo and use on your hair. I have oily hair and I do this every so often to get the oil out! It works wonders! But, you want to use a little conditioner after because it will really dry your hair out.

Baking Soda is an elixir to elite athletes. It is consumed in massive quantities to delay the onset of lactic acid. For those non athletes, this is the naturally occuring substance in the body that we produce when we over exert ourselves. It has been reported that athletes feel like floating on air and achieve improved perfomances of 3-4% which is massive. That equates to nearly 5 seconds for a 2 minute 800 metre runner.
Side effects include massive amounts of flatulence, burping and frothing at the mouth. Whilst it is legal to use, baking soda was recently banned in the Australian horse racing industry. I wonder if it was because of the flatulence - god forbid.

I love baking soda and other common household items that clean without nasty chemicals.
One of my favorite uses for baking soda you didn't mention was to keep our kitchen sink clean and the garbage disposal fresh smelling! I just sprinkle it around my sink, scrub it with a brush and rince it down the drain. In one process I have a sparkling sink and fresh smelling disposal!

It's good for cleaning stove tops too - keep an old spinkle top spice jar full of baking soda and a squirt bottle of vinegar handy - sprinkle on the baking soda, squirt on the vinegar and leave to sit for a few minutes.

This is awesome. I hate the gross smell and noxious fumes from most traditional cleaning products ... never occurred to me that I could use the box of baking soda in my fridge for so many things...

You forgot a major thing that baking soda does: it cures the gout! I suffered from gout and read on a bunch of sites about how baking soda cures gout. Of course, I was skeptical and didn't believe it. But I tried it, and honestly, it really does work! (they say its because Gout is caused by high acidity levels in the blood and the basic qualities of BS lower the acidity level in the blood). Tastes awful, but if you can down a spoonful of it in a glass of water, you'll be gout free like me.
