If it had to be done, then it was well worth the effort.  I am naive and inexperienced in the art of priming.  Primer just looks like white paint to me.  But the desk is fabs and I will definitely look up a primer on.. erm, priming!

The oil-base primer was a Benjamin Moore product and it was recommended as the best to use for this type of application per my Ace Hardware paint expert lady. Believe me, I was not thrilled as oil-based anything makes me ill. I just opened all the windows, turned on a fan and took one for the team. And yes, I became a little ill. But doesn't the desk look great! ;)
