i think i would do a pedestal sink, maybe the type that allows you to set stuff on the wide brim. and then maybe you could also do a glass ledge above it under the mirror. That way the pedestal sink makes the bathroom look bigger but you also have a place to put your toothpaste while you're brushing your teeth.

I think that a pedastal sink would be a great idea for that space.. plus they look cool!
As you said, the bathroom is small, so space is an issue. That little rolling cart looks like it might want to stay for now though... you don't want to get rid of ALL your storage, obviously. I know that I'm going to have a similar problem in my cozy (ie. teeny weeny) new apartment that I'm about to move into. Our bathroom is about the size of yours, and since I'm sharing it with another girl, the idea of keeping all my stuff in there is basically out of the question. Luckily, I have a very large bookshelf in another room that I'm going to put big wicker baskets on, and one of them will have all my bathroom goodies that won't stay in the bathroom permanently (ie. everything but the shampoo, soap, razor, and toothbrush). after you remodel your bathroom to have less storage space, you'll probably want to think about where you're going to store all that other stuff. I would suggest a small closet close to the bathroom, if you have one, or have a special basket for each person that they put in their own closet. For the babies, obviously, this would be something you and your wife take care of. But then whenever you take one of them (or yourselves) in for a bit of a scrub, you could just take your stuff in with you. I know that might sound silly, but that's what I've been doing for two years in the dorms, and that's what I'm going to have to do in my teensy apartment. It's not as bad as it sounds, i promise!

i hear you. we've been talking about doing a bathroom remodel for two years now. We really want to do it but funding it never seems to be easy. Are you wanting to put in a pedestal sink or another one with a cabinet?
