Photo Comments - The idea is that if you have one of those big cheap shelves then you can build a functional and affordable workspace. 1. Determine what you can use as the worktop. 2. Screw one side of the shelf into the wall, leaving the right amount of space from the corner of the room for you worktop. 3. Measure and install brackets to the inner walls of the 'station' to support the worktop and additional shelves. 3. Cut shallower (is that a word?) pieces of wood as the shelves and 4. Place your wood on the brackets. * To make this look more like a built-in rather than a thrown-in, buy some moulding or trim and nail it to the front of the surfaces to hide the mounting brackets, then paint the whole shebang the same color as the walls. * Instead of more shelves beneath the desk, screw some coasters into a board to use as a wheel-out/in for a big basket of crap or you computer tower, etc.
