I don’t know what’s more frightening: this rug, or the fact that I would totally love it in my living room.

If I could pull these off without feeling like the Grand Prize Cake Decorator of the 4-H County Free Fair, I totally would.

Because I happen to think they are LOVELY.

Art. Lebedev Studio has some really fun [and free!] desktop backgrounds. I’m totally using this one when I’m finished with my gray phase.

Oh gosh. I happen to have a mad crush on this chair. So much that I may design an entire home around this.

You know, like the Kohler sink!

“We all live in a rubber chandelier… a rubber chandelier, OH a rubber chandelier!”

Although it’s much too pricey, so we’re foreclosing.

19th Century Terrace House Goes Modern

By DIY Maven 61

This absolutely spectacular 19th century terrace house is located in Sydney's popular Paddington. The subtle changes to its traditional exterior hints at the modern transformation inside, both of which coexist quite nicely. For more images, visit Desire to Inspire.

Her name is Venus. She is a chair. Her creator, Tokuji Yoshioka, submerges her 'polyester elastomer skeleton' into an aquarium and gradually grows her natural crystalline epidermis fit for the goddess she is. Glorious. Via.

Label removal

By janmarla Icon_missing_medium

Coupla solutions from a winemaker's wife to get labels off bottles - fill with water and put it in the microwave until the water is pretty hot.  Let it sit in the microwave for a few minutes.  This softens the label from the inside.  It helps thos labels that have metallic designs on them as well.  We also use Goo-gone and for regular paper labels, just soak in water.  Some labels can be removed using salad oil. Other labels can be removed by using oil, and then using detergent as an emulsifier to pull both oil and label off.
