Wedding Favors.
By NCavillonesI totally wasn't going to do favors for my wedding. Instead, we were going to donate to two charities of our choice, in honor of guests and in memory of my grandmother. I just thought it was silly and wasteful to spend all that money on crappy favors that people probably won't keep.
Then... my sister suggested little photo albums, since Henry and I met on flickr (yes, we did!). I thought people wouldn't want photo albums that have our name and wedding date on them...that's just wierd but I did think people would like little notebooks and pencils, which would be fitting because we are big nerds. This, I was willing to spend some cash on (err...make that credit...).
Thanks to a tip from my friend Freyja, I ordered a custom-made stamp from Impress Rubber Stamps. I made a design in photoshop, using an maple leaf drawing I found with a Google Image search and added some text (FF Scala font to match our invites), like so:

It took a bit of playing around, and some back and forth with the customer service rep to figure out the correction resolution, which turned out to be 300 dpi. It'll take about a week to ten days to get the stamp in the mail. In the meantime, I also ordered 100 3x5 Moleskine Cahiers, in Brown Kraft. I still need to pick up some stamp pads and play around with colors, but I think orange (so many shades of orange, though!) will be the way to go, in keeping with our brown and orange theme for the wedding. I'll post a picture of the finished product eventually.
I ordered personalized pencils from Miles Kimball, by the way. All told, I spent about 300 dollars on favors for 100 people. And yes, we will still donate to the charities we chose.
