Tie Pography

Either you love or hate things made from old ties. Skirts, handbags, belts have been predictably sewn  from old ties. Even tablecloths and footstools have been made from the long bias-cut silk strands.  Over on Dudecraft we found a refreshing twist, or should I say knot, for the familiar piece of flair.

Ed Nacional has created a fresh use for old ties in his display typeface tie pography. His work appears in the first issue of Upper Case Magazine

The mix of patterns and colors is so jazzy, this idea could easily be re-worked into a DIY wall hanging of a favorite quote by sewing real ties on a huge canvas. Re-use, Re-word, and Re-enjoy.
